We didn’t really have any guidelines, we had to come up with everything, and how to get them.

We build an airport, we got an all – weather road into the town, we built a couple of bridges, we got water & sewage service, Telephone & Hydro services. We built a hockey arena, and other much needed infrastructure, for our community.

After living in Edmonton for a number of years, Wayne started having heart attacks. He had six in a period of 2 years, and the final one hopitalized him for 40 days. After which he had to have open heart surgery, which was about 10 years ago.

It took a while to recover from that traumatic incident, but he survived, and is feeling like he gained another 20 years, of life.

He became extremely bored, as he couldn’t do much in that time period.

So, he moved back to Manitoba after 13 years in Alberta, to take care of an elderly sister. Survived 3 strokes and Vascular By-Pass while in Manitoba.

Decided to move ahead with Music City Manitoba, a project that he never forgot, or gave up on. Because it will literally be the biggest thing that could happen to Manitoba.

He is now back to normal, and as happy as he ever has been. I have something I am able to do again, he says.

Without a doubt, one of the biggest proponent of local musical talent, Wayne firmly believes that our local talent deserve a place to perform, at all times, without having to scrounge for jobs, and without having to put up with unscrupulous and greedy people, and have to kiss butt to get those jobs, at rates that no one can survive on, It is time, as it was 20 some odd years ago, to help and support them.

Without a doubt Music City Manitoba will be the largest Entertainment, Tournament, and Shopping destination, in Canada. It is what I have dreaming of making happen, for Manitoba, for like over 30 years.

When the last details are in place, and we are able to start, then he can finally hand over the reins to younger individuals that will take it all the way. All the plans are set, and everything is ready to go.

However, waiting on people, and for people to make decisions, drives me nuts. He laments, with a sigh! Time keeps flying by.
